The Mount Pleasant City Commission will meet in regular session on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 6:00 pm in the Tom Hardin Room at City Hall.
The following items will be on the agenda for public hearing, discussion and approval:
(a) Ordinance 2026-1144- (Public Hearing/Final Reading)-An Ordinance to amend Ordinance 2025-1139 said Ordinance appropriating the revenues and expenses of operating and maintaining the departmental functions of the City of Mount Pleasant, Tennessee for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2026; providing an effective date.
(b) Ordinance 2026-1145- (Public Hearing/Final Reading)-An Ordinance of the City of Mount Pleasant, Tennessee adopting the annual budget and tax rate for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2027.
The public is invited to attend this meeting. This notice is given as provided in T.C.A., §8-44-103. There will be an opportunity for the public to make comments. Anyone wanting to speak on an agenda item listed may do so by signing up before the meeting begins.
NOTICE OF INTENT TO EXCEED CERTIFIED TAX RATE
The City Commission of the City of Mount Pleasant will conduct a public hearing on June 16th, at 6:00 p.m., on the City’s intent to exceed the certified property tax rate. This public hearing will be held at the Tom Hardin Commission Room, 100 Public Square, Mount Pleasant TN 38474. The certified tax rate as defined by T.C.A. § 67-5-1701 is $1.2426 per $100 of assessed valuation. The City's proposed FY 2026-2027 budget, if adopted, will require a proposed tax levy of $1.4975 per $100 of assessed valuation.
NOTICE OF APPROPRIATION FOR NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
The below are non-profit charitable or civic organizations whose services benefit the general welfare of the residents of this municipality; and said non-profit organizations have applied for funds for the fiscal year 2026-2027 to be used for the following purpose(s) and in the following amount:

The City of Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, Board of Commissioners will conduct Study Sessions at 6:00 p.m. on the Thursday preceding the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners each month. Study Sessions will be held at the Mount Pleasant City Hall in the Tom Hardin Room for the Fiscal Year beginning July 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2026, these Study Sessions will be held on the following dates:

The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Mount Pleasant, Tennessee is held at 6:00 p.m. on the third (3rd) Tuesday of each month at the Mount Pleasant City Hall in the Tom Hardin Room.
